The production gets a credibility boost from the casting of Jasmine Guy as Easter and Halle Berry as Queen. Their passion produces a fair-skinned daughter, Queen. Queen’s mother, Easter, a light-skinned slave, is the not-very-secret love of James Jackson Jr., the progressive-thinking, compassionate son of the owner of a stately cotton plantation. The miniseries begins in 1841, a few years before her birth, at a time when the issues that would ignite into the Civil War were beginning to smolder. Queen was the product of a love affair between a slave and a plantation owner. But it is a story that is riveting, educational and entertaining. The atrocities associated with slavery, segregation and blatant racial discrimation are revisited, and even though they have become familiar, they are no less disturbing. It probably was not a comfortable story for the family at the grave, and it will not be for the viewing audience.

Until now their identity has remained a tantalizing mystery to linguists, archaeologists, and even Nazis seeking the roots of the Aryan race. Ellis admonishes Dyer for unethically and unprofessionally not giving Ellis credit as the book's primary source, but expressed overall gratitude for Dyer's work, writing: " Your Erroneous Zones is a good book. that was clearly derived from REBT." Dyer never apologized or expressed any sense of wrongdoing. Ellis adds that "300 or more people have voluntarily told me. Wayne Dyer probably had a fundamental understanding before continuing to explore this idea. In a 1985 letter to Dyer, Ellis claims that Dyer had participated in a workshop Ellis gave on REBT before Dyer published his book, in which Dyer appeared to understand REBT very well. Psychotherapist Albert Ellis writes that Dyer's book Your Erroneous Zones is probably "the worst example" of plagiarism of Ellis' Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). Your Erroneous Zones is the first self-help book written by Wayne Dyer and first issued by Funk & Wagnalls publishers in April 1976. Vuong refuses to cede long and complex cultural histories to the flashiness of the only-now. Still, one reason Vuong’s debut collection Night Sky with Exit Wounds feels so exquisite, so necessary, is that he offers another way to hold the present moment. The work of Saigon-born, Brooklyn-based poet Ocean Vuong-who at only twenty-seven has received a Whiting Award, been profiled in the New Yorker, and seen his name populate lists like the ones above-seems, perhaps, an unlikely occasion for revising this cultural fixation on novelty. See the proliferation of lists declaring the literary world’s next protégés: Muzzle Magazine’s “30 under 30” Buzzfeed’s “20 under 40 Debut Writers You Need to Be Reading” the New Yorker’s “20 under 40.” There is an ethic of disposability built into this fetish: what is new cannot endure in newness.
